LISBON (Reuters) - Portugal will be without FIFA Player
of the Year Luis Figo and three other players when they line up against Finland
in a friendly on Wednesday, national team doctor Henrique Jones said.
In addition to Real Madrid midfielder Figo, who has an ankle injury, Jones
said after a squad gathering that defenders Abel Xavier and Rui Jorge were also
on the injury list.
Everton's Xavier has an injured right thigh and Jorge, of Sporting, also has
muscle trouble.
Jones said he had also talked to AC Milan's doctor about playmaker Rui Costa,
who did not travel to Lisbon after picking up a thigh strain in his side's 1-0
win at Piacenza on Sunday.
The Finland match is one of Portugal's three remaining friendlies before the
World Cup finals in June where they face co-hosts South Korea, the United States
and Poland in Group D.
