Footballranking awards Luis Figo, Fabian Barthez and Sir Alex Ferguson

Footballranking.com, the world's largest independent football fan ranking, announced the winners of the annual Fan Awards this weekend.

The awards have been designed to enable football fans worldwide to honour their favourite football player, keeper and coach for outstanding achievements. This season fans from over 220 countries voted for their favourite football idols, commented Footballranking CEO Bart Sikkens.

Real Madrid’s top player Luis Figo won the title of the worlds best player. Manchester United’s Fabian Barthez was favoured as the best keeper and Sir Alex Ferguson was honoured as the favourite coach of the football industry.

Manchester United was also chosen as the worlds favourite club and received substantial support from fans outside the United Kingdom. Sportswear giant Adidas was favoured by over 34% of all soccer fans as their preferred clothing brand and German car manufacturer Opel was voted as the worlds most liked
shirt sponsor.
